2008 Holiday Update

The Kaiton Family Update!Well there are 5 of us now (including the dog) and life is wonderfully crazy!

GORDIE (Gordon Russell) was born on July 5th. Which makes him 5 months old already. Wow time flies! He is by definition a true “Kaiton boy” (who should be sleeping, but is crying right now so I have to take a break from typing…) Ok I’m back. If you know Chuck, Russ and Nel you can guess what will be included in the definition. Gordie eats (a lot), he sleeps (when he wants to) and he poops (a lot). He is BIG, 75th percentile across the board. And to conclude the definition of a true “Kaiton boy” not only does he eat a lot...he eats fast. I have started feeding him solid food and I can’t get the spoon to his mouth fast enough… when the spoon is mid-flight, he grabs it from me and stuffs it into his own mouth. When the bowl is empty is screams for more!

Gordie is rolling over, reaches, grabs and stuffs everything into his mouth. He loves his sister and will watch her, reach out to touch her, laugh and smile at and with her all day long! It is beautiful and often brings tears to my eyes…and Adelee is just as in love with Gordie!

ADELEE Rose is 18 months old. Oh my goodness! Some of her favorite words: more peez (more please), gapes (grapes), dance, apple, and bass (bath). Of course Mommy, Daddy, Gee (Gordie), dids (Kids/Abby, Sophie and Noah), Lala or sometimes she gets it right Nana, Papa, and digs (Kendall’s nickname) are favorites as well. Adelee loves to dance and asks to dance at least a couple of times everyday! She loves to talk to daddy on the phone. She holds the phone to her ear and actually has a pretty good conversation with him (he usually asks her if she has eaten any grapes--which sends her running into the kitchen yelling “gapes, gapes”.) She is really enjoying her time in Michigan loves her Nana and Papa, Auntie Anna and Uncle Tom, but most of all she loves her 4 year old cousins who have taught her so much and play so well with her!

KENDALL has adjusted well to having 2 babies around, not having Chuck around, living in cold weather where she rarely gets long walks and has to pee in the snow, and moving from house to house every other week or so. She still thinks she deserves the best seat in the house, no matter whose house! She is great with the babies and they love her!

CHUCK for those of you who are wondering…where is Chuck? Well he is working a wonderful job that is really enjoys, but he has reallllllly long hours and is traveling. He was offered the job 2 days before Gordie was born and started 2 days after he was born. And he has been busy! He is working on a new TV show called “Wedding Day” as a Production Coordinator. I better not say anymore, Chuck is so modest he would not like it if I talk too much about him or his job. But I will talk a bit about the result of this new job… after several weeks on the job we decided that I should take the kids and move to Michigan for 2 reasons…1-for help and 2-it was a great opportunity for our babies to get to know all of Michigan family and spend some really good quality time with them all! So we sold one of our cars, moved out of our apartment into a storage unit, put the dog, Adelee, Gordie, my mom and I on airplanes and moved to Michigan for a few months. And although we all miss him more than words can express (everytime we hang up the phone Adelee asks for “more, more, more”) we feel very blessed to have this time with my family and we are having a blast!

ME-- Well, I’m a mom of 2 now and it is wonderful! Crazy at times but wonderful! And I am loving every minute. Well maybe not during the night when I’m waking up every 2-4 hours (although I won’t always admit it, those middle of the night cuddle sessions are pretty nice). I’ve been enjoying living with my parents and watching them love on my babies and watching my babies fall in love with them! I am loving spending time with my sister Anna. I am so blessed to have 2 sisters who are my best friends and one of them whom I actually get to live with for some time. Anna has got me knitting up a storm (I have 4 projects going right now and have already finished 2 other ones). I love talking to my little sister who just had her first baby! And I am so proud of her!

I am unbelievably blessed to have 2 beautiful children and an amazing and loving husband. I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends all around me. For Chuck, Adelee, Gordie and Kendall, this is Martha wishing you a wonderful holiday season and countless blessings in 2009! God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Our beautiful snow princess!
