2008 Holiday Update

The Kaiton Family Update!Well there are 5 of us now (including the dog) and life is wonderfully crazy!

GORDIE (Gordon Russell) was born on July 5th. Which makes him 5 months old already. Wow time flies! He is by definition a true “Kaiton boy” (who should be sleeping, but is crying right now so I have to take a break from typing…) Ok I’m back. If you know Chuck, Russ and Nel you can guess what will be included in the definition. Gordie eats (a lot), he sleeps (when he wants to) and he poops (a lot). He is BIG, 75th percentile across the board. And to conclude the definition of a true “Kaiton boy” not only does he eat a lot...he eats fast. I have started feeding him solid food and I can’t get the spoon to his mouth fast enough… when the spoon is mid-flight, he grabs it from me and stuffs it into his own mouth. When the bowl is empty is screams for more!

Gordie is rolling over, reaches, grabs and stuffs everything into his mouth. He loves his sister and will watch her, reach out to touch her, laugh and smile at and with her all day long! It is beautiful and often brings tears to my eyes…and Adelee is just as in love with Gordie!

ADELEE Rose is 18 months old. Oh my goodness! Some of her favorite words: more peez (more please), gapes (grapes), dance, apple, and bass (bath). Of course Mommy, Daddy, Gee (Gordie), dids (Kids/Abby, Sophie and Noah), Lala or sometimes she gets it right Nana, Papa, and digs (Kendall’s nickname) are favorites as well. Adelee loves to dance and asks to dance at least a couple of times everyday! She loves to talk to daddy on the phone. She holds the phone to her ear and actually has a pretty good conversation with him (he usually asks her if she has eaten any grapes--which sends her running into the kitchen yelling “gapes, gapes”.) She is really enjoying her time in Michigan loves her Nana and Papa, Auntie Anna and Uncle Tom, but most of all she loves her 4 year old cousins who have taught her so much and play so well with her!

KENDALL has adjusted well to having 2 babies around, not having Chuck around, living in cold weather where she rarely gets long walks and has to pee in the snow, and moving from house to house every other week or so. She still thinks she deserves the best seat in the house, no matter whose house! She is great with the babies and they love her!

CHUCK for those of you who are wondering…where is Chuck? Well he is working a wonderful job that is really enjoys, but he has reallllllly long hours and is traveling. He was offered the job 2 days before Gordie was born and started 2 days after he was born. And he has been busy! He is working on a new TV show called “Wedding Day” as a Production Coordinator. I better not say anymore, Chuck is so modest he would not like it if I talk too much about him or his job. But I will talk a bit about the result of this new job… after several weeks on the job we decided that I should take the kids and move to Michigan for 2 reasons…1-for help and 2-it was a great opportunity for our babies to get to know all of Michigan family and spend some really good quality time with them all! So we sold one of our cars, moved out of our apartment into a storage unit, put the dog, Adelee, Gordie, my mom and I on airplanes and moved to Michigan for a few months. And although we all miss him more than words can express (everytime we hang up the phone Adelee asks for “more, more, more”) we feel very blessed to have this time with my family and we are having a blast!

ME-- Well, I’m a mom of 2 now and it is wonderful! Crazy at times but wonderful! And I am loving every minute. Well maybe not during the night when I’m waking up every 2-4 hours (although I won’t always admit it, those middle of the night cuddle sessions are pretty nice). I’ve been enjoying living with my parents and watching them love on my babies and watching my babies fall in love with them! I am loving spending time with my sister Anna. I am so blessed to have 2 sisters who are my best friends and one of them whom I actually get to live with for some time. Anna has got me knitting up a storm (I have 4 projects going right now and have already finished 2 other ones). I love talking to my little sister who just had her first baby! And I am so proud of her!

I am unbelievably blessed to have 2 beautiful children and an amazing and loving husband. I am blessed to have wonderful family and friends all around me. For Chuck, Adelee, Gordie and Kendall, this is Martha wishing you a wonderful holiday season and countless blessings in 2009! God Bless and Merry Christmas!

Gordie in the leaves...really didn't like it too much, but made for a good photo op.

Here are the 3 of us at the real pumpkin patch! We took a wagon ride out to the best ones!

Just seconds before Adelee had her head sticking through that whole...when the goat came up she jumped about a foot off the ground!

Adelee had to be careful where she stepped...lots of vines! She had a blast!

Adelee lookin good in Green and in EL!! (with all the games we have won this year we sure did pick a bad one to go to...we left at halftime not cause of the kids but cause of the awful OH--IO chant that was happening every other seconds as they kept scoring TD after TD against our Spartans!)

Update

Hi Everyone...

Wow! A month has gone by here in Michigan and although you haven't seen any pictures on our blog...we have taken a ton! We are having a blast with Nana and Papa, Auntie Anna and Uncle Tom and the "ids" (aka Kids/Triplets. If you want to see what we have been up to check out www.triplethelove.blogspot.com for all of Anna's updates!

Gordie had his 4 month check up and is thriving! 75% across the board. He is having a little trouble at night, waking up every 2-4 hours (mostly 2), but goes right back to sleep. He is rolling over and having a blast "talking" to his big sister. He is getting close to sitting too.

Adelee is growing like crazy comes up with new words everyday and loves playing with her cousins or as she calls them the "ids".

Chuck is sleeping on Mark, Joe and Russ's couch for a while and contiues to travel for his job (next stop Miami).

But here are a couple to give a quick update:

Out of control?

It may look like I"m out of control...and sometimes I feel like I am. But not being in control all of the times makes for some pretty cute pictures.

First I left the room for 30 seconds and I come back to find that Adelee had made Gordie's head into a sippy cup table. Later that day Auntie Jen was over (helping me out all day! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!) and she let Adelee decide what bathing suit she wanted to wear, turns out she wanted to wear both of them (she has 2 pairs of bottoms on too).

She loves her flip flops from her beach bum Uncle Mark...but she can only keep them on for a few minutes, she's getting better though.

Life sure is fun!

Growing so fast!

Adelee and Gordie are doing great! Both are going so fast and learning so much! Adelee decided she had to have dolly while eating dinner the other night (not the best idea, but I do what I have to to keep some sanity around this place!) It was so cute she was patting dolly's back, giving her drinks from her sippy cup while she was eating with her fork (and fingers)...what a multitasker. Meanwhile I'm eating my dinner while nursing Gordie.

Then she taught herself how to climb in and out of the high chair.

Gordie is doing great at night and takes pretty good morning naps, but the afternoon naps are tough. He will sleep as long as he is in my arms. The temps have been in the upper 90's so I'm blaming it on the heat in his bedroom, so we'll hope for a cool down and good afternoon naps in the near future!

Movin' and Talkin'

We are having so much fun! Gordie has started smiling at Adelee and it is adorable! For those of you who don't know yet...we are packing up to move! Adelee, Gordie and I are moving to Michigan for 10 weeks while Chuck continues his travels with work. So Adelee and I have been working hard to pack up the apartment ( you see her helping decorate the boxes) the other photo is her trying on her gift from Daddy when he got back from Hawaii. See all of you Michiganders soon! We look forward to spending the fall with old friends and our wonderful family!

Auntie Anna's Visit

We had a wonderful long weekend with Auntie Anna! We went on a cupcake tour of LA (see Anna's blog...Triple the Love), went to the Getty Center and played in the beautiful gardens (see Anna's blog), the Skirball Center to see the amazing Noah's Ark Exhibit!, went to Malibu to introduce Gordie (and Anna) to good friends, and relaxed!!

Gordie had his 2 month doctor visit and is doing GREAT!

Weight: 13 lbs 1 oz... 75%
Height: 23 3/8 inches...50th
Head: 15 1/2 cm...25%

He is cueing, smiling and even laughing a bit! He does good with belly time (but he does sleep on his belly so that helps!) He is what the doctor calls a "happy spitter". He spits up a lot, but doesn't seem bothered by it! (I'm the one who has to change his clothes and my clothes several times a day!) What a love! Adelee still loves him and helps take good care of him!

Our trip to Seattle for Nel and Jen's Wedding!

We had a wonderful trip to Seattle. We got off to a slow start..missing our flight out of LA (guess you need more time when you are traveling with 2 kids!) But we arrived without a fuss from either kid. We had late nights and busy days but we all hung in there and had a lot of fun. We celebrated with wonderful family and friends! Enjoy the photos.
